ARCH ENEMY Vocalist ANGELA GOSSOW On Media, New Album And CARCASS Reunion

October 19, 2007

With The Black Tyranny Tour completed, the mighty ARCH ENEMY now set their sights on the rest of the world touring extensively throughout Australia, China, Greece, Japan and Europe through the end of the year. Look for them to make their triumphant return to North American in early 2008.

Angela Gossow (vocals) recently conducted a very rare, in-depth and candid interview with MTV's Headbanger's Blog. In addition to complaining about journalists and the media, Gossow talked at length about: geting sick on tour, the melodic fury of their new album, "Rise of the Tyrant", the dangers of megalomania and fascism, why it's not a good idea to use Hitler samples on a metal album, how her grandparents hid Jews from the Nazis, her relationship with guitarist Michael Amott, the return of co-guitarist Christopher Amott and how she encouraged grindcore pioneers CARCASS to reunite for a tour. Click here to check it out.

ARCH ENEMY's new album, "Rise of the Tyrant", sold around 8,900 in the United States in its first week of release — approximately 25 percent less than the opening number (12,000) of its predecessor, 2005's "Doomsday Machine" (which landed at No. 87).

ARCH ENEMY recently completed work on a video for the track "Revolution Begins" with acclaimed Swedish director Patric Ullaeus (DIMMU BORGIR, IN FLAMES, LACUNA COIL). Look for the clip to make its debut on MTV2's Headbanger's Blog in the coming weeks.
